Connecting Communities

The overall aim of this project is to strengthen and unite communities throughout Nuneaton & Bedworth, by breaking down barriers faced by socially isolated and marginalised people and enabling them to get actively involved in their community by means of volunteering. This will give them both a stake and a voice in their society, which has gradually receded over the past five decades.

VCNB will set up community projects in socially deprived and isolated areas where volunteers will be encouraged to establish income-generating, sustainable schemes, such as Gardening Clubs, Craft Circles, DIY Projects and Intergenerational Projects.

Here are clips demonstrating Connecting Communities Project working in the community.

How the project works
Volunteers are currently helping people that are unable to maintain their own garden or undertake basic DIY tasks.

The Volunteer Centre continue to seek people who could further enhance the project. People who wish to utilise their skills and knowledge, or just have a desire to learn something new and help their community at the same time should get in touch.

Do you have the following skills or would just like to learn?

Weeding

Planting

Pruning

Carpentry
