About Medi-Car Escort Service
Medi-Car is a community transport service operated by the Volunteer Centre - Nuneaton & Bedworth, which helps provide transport to the people of Nuneaton and Bedworth on medically related journeys.
Our drivers are all volunteers, using their own vehicles and giving their time for free.
Charges
- Local journeys - 40 pence for every mile the driver has to cover to undertake the journey.
- Non-medical journeys & out of area journeys - 45 pence
- Admin charge per journey - 50 pence

For Service Users
48 Hours Notice
Our drivers need at least 48 hours notice. You need to ring the office for every journey you want for insurance purposes.

- Please note - Children under I6 must be accompanied by an adult.
lf you are unable to pay the costs of the journey and it is related to your health or social care, you may be entitled to having those costs covered by another agency.
If this is the case could you please ask a representative of the agency to contact us directly (e.g. Social Service Department, Hospital etc.) or ask them to write to us confirming that they will cover your travel costs.
